Ambitions
03:16
|
|||
I have no ambition, sir ,to follow your charade
to follow in the footsteps of stars in your parade
I have no ambition, but a workhorse I will be
with time and spirit left to live my own conformity
Chorus:
So, take the blood & sweat you need,
and leave the best for us;
Who's dreams are bigger than ourselves
Build romance from the dust,
build romance from the dust!
I have no ambition, girl, no future but my own
No longing for a picket fence; No cage can be a home
I have no ambition, girl; But love me you can try
My passion can be flexible to get us through the night
I have no ambition to sabotage your plan
I have no ambition to stick it to the man
I have no ambition to join your living hell
I have one ambition, girl, you better learn it well…
you better learn it well !

Scratch The Surface
04:51
|
|||
I scratched the surface many times
and many crafts that could be mine
But I don't see the point today
So take my hand and lead the way
Sometimes at night I lie awake
And wonder why I can't relate
To any common sort of life
But every choice comes with it's price
(bridge)
I take no pleasure in this role
Some things are out of my control
My will is free to some extend
But every river has its' own bends
I scratched my head so many times
But i must learn to make it rhyme
And with a modest cup of pride
I make a toast to my own life

I met a girl on Kincardine beach
Where I strummed my guitar and stared at the lake
She drove from Toronto, but came from the east
Her nails had the sparks, but her eyes took the cake.
We talked about noses, and Persian girls
I gave her my charm, but I remained on my turf
She wasn't my type but I wouldn't resist
If she stepped up closer and gave me a kiss
But she gave me a fiver , then she sat down
I gave her my best and played her a song
She praised my music but said that this place
Was not the right spot for me to get paid
I thanked her kindly for her sound advise
I wished I could join her but to no surprise
She got in the car, in the passengers seat
I turned to the sunset, and swallowed defeat

Decency
03:54
|
|||
You better watch out what you say
The next time that you come my way
My standards may be high for you
That's just a matter of your point of view
It's up to you to
Raise above the level that you float
Have a bit of pride and show me what you're made of
You have to get me in the mood
It's in your own damn interest too
There's only so much I will take
You better change your sorry ways before
You'll be too late to
Lift me up and make me feel complete
Give me one good reason to believe you

Sea Blue Crush
02:58
|
|||
Hair so soft and lips so bright
I wanna hold her, walk in the sunlight
Take our time and have a bite
Looking into those beautiful sea blue eyes
And I don't wanna break the spell
Don't wanna share the feeling that's growing
Just to see her face again
I'm putting the words down, pick up a tune and sing
(nana nana....)
Here on my own and off with the phone so
I don't mess up the night, ruin whatever we
Got after meeting up this lovely day
And I'm too scared to find out what she'd say!
So I will go to bed and cherish
Every minute , moments of silence
Count the days and bide my time
Hoping to see that beautiful smile again
Hoping to look into those sea blue eyes, nanana...

Maria
03:10
|
|||
Before I'm heading back to my hotel
I'm passing by to see if you are well
Maria, Maria, oh help me sleep
Your face I hope will visit in my dreams
I'm sorry if I ever crossed the line
Forgive my silly questions, drunk on wine
Maria, Maria, It's sad but true
I'll never know the words of your tattoo
Before I leave this place of history
I hope you saved a smile tonight for me
Maria, Maria, bon soir, bon soir...
Je vous souhaite le meilleur dans la vie

slaagt
